Douglas Limbaugh

COO and Executive Vice-President

Doug Limbaugh serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kutta Technologies, LLC (Kutta). He is responsible for maintaining Kutta’s vision and draws on both industry standards and his own expert insights to develop a positive innovation culture and grow Kutta’s diverse product base.

Using his vast range of knowledge, management, and technical expertise, Doug leads the Kutta team and its partners in the development of cost-effective, innovative solutions to meet the end user’s needs. Kutta’s mission, vision, and values are the foundation on which those strategic growth discussions are founded. 

In 2001, Doug co-founded Kutta with Matthew Savoca. In his role as co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO), Doug was the principal investigator for multiple Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awards focused on advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for more than 14 years. As CEO, he also testified to Congress on behalf of the SBIR program, and Kutta won two prestigious small business technical achievement awards for innovation. Kutta grew rapidly due to its innovative UAS and radio technologies and was acquired by a leading aerospace and defense company, Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), in 2015.

Doug has nearly 30 years of experience in the aviation and aerospace industry. Before founding Kutta, he worked for Boeing developing and designing real-time mathematical pilots to control aircraft. While at Boeing, he was appointed the aircraft simulator focal for all 737 aircraft and managed multiple aircraft accident investigations. This experience led to him becoming an aircraft design engineer for the next-generation 737. He later utilized real-time digital control skills on Honeywell’s Advanced Avionics Systems Integration Laboratory to design autopilot and auto-throttle control laws. Before leaving Honeywell, Doug became a systems and software engineer focused on developing FAA-certifiable (e.g., DO-178) systems and software for Honeywell’s Primus Epic avionics suite.  

Doug received a master’s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Matthew Savoca

Executive Vice-President

Matthew Savoca serves as the executive vice president (EVP) of Kutta Technologies, LLC (Kutta). He leverages impeccable judgment and strategic vision to maximize Kutta’s operating performance and achieve its long-term revenue goals, including growth, return on sales, and return on investment.

In 2001, Matthew co-founded Kutta with Douglas Limbaugh, where he acted as President for over 14 years until it was acquired by a leading aerospace and defense company, Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), in 2015. During his tenure as Kutta’s President, Matthew established and ran its subsidiary, Kutta Radios. 

Matthew has more than 27 years of experience in the aviation industry. Prior to founding Kutta, he worked for Honeywell International in the Business and Commuter Aviation Division as a software leader, developing the communication mechanism for the Primus Epic system. While at Honeywell, he was chosen to join the Honeywell Software Solutions Laboratory (HSSL) and became the lead engineer on numerous challenging software development projects. Because of his work with the HSSL, Matthew was nominated for a Technical Achievement Award, one of the most distinguished awards an engineer can receive at Honeywell.

Matthew received a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Phoenix.

Matthew Munster

Senior Director, Business Development

LTC (R) Matt Munster serves as the director of business development for Kutta Technologies, LLC (Kutta). He manages the Unmanned Systems Division in Huntsville, Alabama.

Matt joined Kutta in 2012 and has been instrumental in building and maintaining positive relationships with new and existing customers within the Huntsville community.

He offers over 28 years of experience managing and leading organizations, including extensive experience in operational planning and execution. He is also a certified member of the U.S. Army’s Acquisition Corps.   

Matt’s military career spans more than 20 years of service at various levels of command and staff. In 1991, LTC Munster received his Regular Army Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Armor Branch after graduating as a “Distinguished Military Graduate” from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Matt retired from active duty in 2012 after serving for three years as the product manager for UAS Modernization within the UAS Project Management Office. Leading a team of more than 250 government and contractor personnel, Matt managed over $600M in contracts while at UAS Modernization.  

Prior to his time with UAS PMO, Matt served as a Department of Army System Coordinator Pentagon. Directly reporting to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, Matt provided program oversight, programmatic justification, technical and political analysis for the Future Combat Systems Program totaling $162B. Other acquisition assignments include serving as the Assistant Product Manager for the Recovery and Maintenance Vehicle at Tank and Automotive Command in Warren, Michigan, and serving as Operational Test Officer for the Stryker Wheeled Vehicle in Fort Hood, Texas.

Matt received a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Colorado. He also holds a Master of Procurement & Acquisition Management from Webster’s University and an Advanced Program Management Course from Defense Acquisition University.

Robert Vallelonga

Director of Operations

Bob Vallelonga serves as the director of operations for Kutta Technologies, LLC (Kutta). Bob coordinates day-to-day enterprises to plan, prepare, execute, and continuously assess activities to improve Kutta’s effectiveness, productivity, and performance.

In 2010, Bob joined Kutta as a senior systems engineer. He also served as a technical program manager for several key Kutta programs before being named operations manager in 2020. He was then promoted to Director of Operations in 2022.

Prior to joining Kutta, Bob worked for Honeywell Aerospace as a systems engineer working on a variety of general aviation, business, commuter, and commercial aircraft programs. Bob has also worked at other large companies involved in Department of Defense work, such as United Defense and General Dynamics.

Taking pride in molding Kutta’s organizational values and mission through his team, Bob provides inspired leadership to the entire organization by developing and implementing ongoing training, operational policies, and procedures.

Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He also holds a private pilot certificate and has been an Arizona Wing Civil Air Patrol member since 2015.

Doris Robinson

Business Manager

Doris Robinson serves as the business manager for Kutta Technologies, LLC (Kutta). While managing day-to-day operations, Doris is responsible for all of Kutta’s support services, including employee oversight, managing company budgets, and creating its financial goals.

Doris ensures productivity and efficiency in all business areas with an emphasis on business continuity throughout the organization. Joining Kutta shortly after its inception, Doris is uniquely focused on preserving Kutta’s innovative work environment to support employee excellence.

Before joining Kutta, Doris served as treasurer for Russell A. C., Inc. for 20 years, at that time one of the largest mechanical contractors in Arizona.

She also served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1980 with Criminal Investigation Command, 3rd Region, Fort Stewart, Georgia.
